Caboolture 25th Brigade Plaque (Railway Station)

Caboolture Railway station, 35km north of Brisbane CBD.

Description:
Marble plaque set into the wall of the railway station that commemorates 25th Brigade, 7th Division who entrained at the station before heading north to join the defence of Papua New Guinea from the 1st September 1942. The plaque displays enamelled unit bades of the brigade and associated battalions.
Inscription:
IN MEMORY OF 25TH BRIGADE, 7TH DIVIDION, A.I.F. - CONSISTING 2/25TH, 2/31ST, 2/33RD INF. BNS. AND - ATTACHED TROOPS WHO ENTRAINED AT THIS STATION 1.9.42 TO TAKE PART IN THE - OWEN STANLEY-KOKODA TRAIL CAMPAIGN TO GONA - AND HELPED TO DIVERT THE THREAT - OF INVASIONS TO AUSTRALIA - WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.
