Drayton Memorial Cross

The sandstone memorial topped with a cross, on a stepped base, is set in the Drayton Soldiers Memorial Park which was completely revamped for 25.4.1991. Paving and gardens were added and the memorial cleaned.

Plaque reads: In Memoriam and lists 15 names for World War I, 4 names for Second World War 1939-1945 and 1 name for Korea 1950-1953.

Centre plaque reads: Erected by the residents of Drayton and district in grateful remembrance of those residents who fell in the Great War.

A further plaque reads: The Great War. War declared Aug. 4th 1914. Armistice Day Nov. 11th 1918. Treaty of Peace signed June 28th 1919.
