Defensively Equiped Merchant Ships (DEMS) Plaque
Brass plaque dedicated to the memory of the Royal Australian Naval Gunners and Communicators who served in Defensively Equiped Merchant Ships (DEMS) during the Second World War. The plaque displays the unit crest and a dedciation to those who paid the supreme sacrifice.

GUNNERS AND COMMUNICATORS WHO SERVED IN
DEFENSIVELY EQUIPPED MERCHANT SHIPS
DURING WORLD WAR II AND THE GUNS CREWS WHO
SERVED IN MALTA AND MURMANSK CONVOYS,
THE ATLANTIC, INDIAN AND PACIFIC OCEANS:
AND THE LANDINGS OF NORTHY AFRICA AND NORMANDY,
AND THOSE MEMBERS WHO PAID THE SUPREME SACRIFICE.
At the going down of the sun,
and in the morning
We will remember them.
