Laidley Memorial Gates
The granite Memorial Gates carry on the piers two large, stained plaques listing 3 nurses topping the 140 names on the left (including 9 Hodges and many other family names repeated), and 135 names, including many repeated family names, on the plaque on the right of the gate - a total of 275 names for a country centre. The laurel wreath above the gates inscription was painted green, and the flames on the torches on both piers.
